Smoke Burst

This effect was created from Fractal Noise using Channel Composite to shape and contain the smoke. Since Channel Composite supports an extended list of composite modes, special edge effects can be created such as the natural looking cloud edges shown in this example. This technique also works great for masking fire and other luminance based effects.

Gradient Designer was used to apply the green gas colors using the radioactive preset. Gradient Designer can be used to achieve the same results as Colorize but has more colors and more control.
