Digieffects Extends Native Support to Broader Customer Base, Delivering Significant Performance, Image Quality Gains for Final Cut Pro and Motion Artists
Wilmington, NC - April 04, 2011
Digieffects® (www.digieffects.com), a developer of popular visual effects software plug-ins, announced today it is now natively supporting Apple FxPlug across its entire family of VFX plug-ins. FxPlug, designed by Apple’s Professional Applications group specifically for Apple Pro Applications, is an image processing plug-in architecture that offers unprecedented fast rendering, high color depth and seamless integration with Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and Motion.
This development essentially extends superior levels of support, performance and image quality to Digieffects customers on Final Cut Pro and Motion, and closes the decision gap for Apple users considering Digieffects plug-ins for their VFX pipeline. Final Cut Pro is the number one video editing application in the post production market with over 1.4 million users worldwide.
“This is a highly significant development milestone for the team at Digieffects, and a big performance and image quality win for our customers,” said Robert Sharp, president of Digieffects. “Digieffects has always supported Final Cut Pro users in the past, but due to architecture limitations, we couldn’t offer the kind of performance we know they crave. Today this worldwide community of artists can tap into our vast library of VFX plug-ins and experience the levels of performance, image quality and workflow integration they require.”
Apple FxPlug delivers several workflow advantages for Final Cut Pro and Motion users, and help catapult Digieffects into new, broader post production market opportunities. Some advantages include:
- Faster rendering as FxPlug can utilize the power of the GPU, removing valuable compute cycle burdens from the CPU;
- Integration of other technologies, such as Open GL;
- Integration of other Apple technologies, such as Core Image and Quartz Composer;
- The power of 32-bit float processing.
